As one of the founders of Cambridge Recordings, Adam shares in the philosophy of bringing recorded music to life. The idea is that the recordings should not be over produced, but rather capture the immediacy of communication between performer and audience. One of the first projects undertaken was with the Bingham String Quartet in 2005. The venue for the recording was a small church in the village of Heydon and very little was needed to be done to enhance the acoustic. This was also as the case in the later recording of Magnificat which took lace in Queens’ College chapel, Cambridge. Later releases will include a further recording of the University Church choir, another orchestral CD and one of Adam’s more recent chamber works. |
