Violin Sonata
This was composed for Keith Gurry and David Silkoff. The four movements develops from a ‘cluster’ of notes heard at the start. The first movement is reflective in style and incorporates recitative style passages. The second is a lively scherzo and this is followed by a slow movement that is meditative in style. The piece ends with a rhythmic allegro that has a jazz influence.
